Yes. I'll admit it. I'm an addicted comper. I do at least 50 competitions a month. These range from comps on the net, prize draws, quizzes and those requiring slogans. I'm also a winner. Winning prizes ranging from a box of sweets/candies to luxury trips to Tuscany, Italy and New York!
O.K. so you're lucky? No! I don't think I am. I believe that the more comps I do the more I'll win. I have lots of strategies for winning and I'm willing to share them with you. I am in the process of writing my e-book on Comping Strategies. So, it's a case of wait and see I'm afraid. But here's a little taster:
Belief - Like throwing a pebble into a pond the ripples run out to the edge and then return. The pebble can be your thoughts. Believe you'll win and the positive ripples you send out will bring you waves of prizes in return
Slogans that bite! - turn out slogans that have the edge over others. Think outside the box
Refine your searching - stuck for quiz answers? I have the answers!
Scams - Unfortunately there are a lot of unscrupulous people that find preying on innocent compers very lucrative. Here are a few ways to avoid their schemes:
1. Genuine promoters never ask you to pay for your prize to be delivered. The only way you may be asked to pay for a prize will be in providing your own travel insurance, paying for transport to and from an airport and perhaps airport taxes. Always check the terms and conditions to make sure.
2. There is a proliferation of scratch cards at the moment usually with a 0900 number to ring. This is how they make their money to provide the prizes. Beware - you can be on the phone for several minutes sometimes at a cost of £1+ a minute. Although they provide a way to discover your prize by mail, I have always found them a waste of time. First you post them the form with your details including an SAE. Then they send you your claim number and yet another form. You have to fill in your claim number on the form and send it off with yet another SAE. The last time I did this, I won a tiny digital camera but had to pay £6 for the privilege of owining it. I'm not allowed to say it's criminal but quite frankly I prefer to save my stamps and envelopes for genuine competitions.
3. Some companies provide a prize so that they can ring runner-ups with the offer of buying the prize at a reduced rate. One company that always seems to do this is one supplying orthopaedic beds. Another offered me a time-share apartment for life but a £300 maintenance charge a year. Of course you don't have to agree to anything it's just a minor annoyance.
Hope this has not put you off, if in doubt check the terms and conditions or Contact me for advice.

* Plain Paper entries: this means white paper without anything else on it. So scrap paper is OK provided you've cut out a plain piece without any writing or printing. A piece about the size of a normal postcard is the norm. Write your details as opposed to using stickers or printing. Block capitals is clearer.
* NPN = No Purchase Necessary. Means just that! You don't have to buy anything to enter this competition. Some companies require you to purchase their product and send a receipt with your entry.
Always best to check out my answers I'm not inflallible!
